Nautical Updates from
Mallorca. 25-04-2013
With Palma Boat Show / Mallorca Nautical Week less than a week away major exhibitors are confirming their line-up of boats on show. Nautical visitors to Mallorca will have a choice of venues – Palma Boat Show against the backdrop of Old Port Palma and the magnificent Gothic Cathedral and the ultra-modern Philippe Starck designed Port Adriano superyacht marina. Palma with a myriad of restaurants and bars with character and quality food at all price levels. Port Adriano with modern restaurants and boutiques overlooking exotic superyachts.
Destined to be a major
attraction at Palma 2013 is the new Pearl 75 which made her debut at
Southampton Boat Show in September. "The latest Pearl flagship brings
together sumptuous space with luxurious styling and outstanding levels
of comfort ". The Pearl 75 has generated much praise from yachting
journalists during recent sea trials in the Bay of Palma. Pearl MD Iain
Smallbridge confirmed that the Pearl 75 has been produced in response to
the demand from existing clients to go bigger. It is the first in a
planned series of flybridge models. The use of pod drives makes for
increased fuel efficiency and allows more space for a spacious interior
– the product of collaboration with world renowned British interior
designer Kelly Hoppen MBE. The increased space also facilitates the
incorporation of a garage. The pod drives and joystick controls make for
excellent manoeuvrability and make the Pearl 75 suitable for owner
operation without the need for a professional crew. A Pearl 65 flybridge
craft is in the pipeline. Iain confirmed that despite the recession the
Pearl order book is looking good.
